UK College of Education Ted Strickland to become Ohio Governor

Alum Ted Strickland won the Ohio Governor's race in November. Ted received his M.A. in 1966 in Guidance and Counseling, then his Ph.D. in 1980 in Educational and Counseling Psychology in the College of Education at the University of Kentucky. He has had a career as a psychologist, college professor and most recently a Congressman for Ohio. Ted was inducted into the College of Education Hall of Fame in 2000. He is married to Frances Smith, who graduated from the university in May 1976 and has an educational consulting business. She is the author of "The Little Girl Who Grew Up to be a Governor" about Martha Layne Collins. Frances and Ted met at the University of Kentucky while working on their doctorates.
