UK College of Education College welcomes visiting scholar

The University of Kentucky College of Education would like to welcome Garibsulton Sultonmamadova, a U.S. State Department Visiting Scholar from Khorog, Tajikistan. Ms. Sultonmamadova is visiting from Khorog State University as part of the Junior Faculty Development Program (JFDP), which is designed to enable young university faculty members from for Soviet Republics of Central Asia and the Caucuses to improve their teaching skills and instructional strategies now that universities in their countries have a greater ability to create and develop new programs and curricula. Ms. Sultonmamadova, who will be hosted by Educational Policy Studies and Evaluation, teaches English and physics within the Department of Mathematics at her home institution. She also has scholarly interests within the field of Educational Administration, which include the following: teaching mathematical analysis, physics, statistics and logic; teaching methodology; and curriculum and course design. She will be at UK until May 2008 and welcomes questions and opportunities to visit local schools and university classes, if invited.
