UK College of Education Candace Sellars named to UK Alumni Board of Directors

College of Education alumna, Candace Sellars, is a new member of the University of Kentucky Alumni Association Board of Directors.  Her appointment to the alumni affairs council, which includes representatives from each of the university’s colleges, runs until 2010.

Sellars earned her bachelors degree in elementary education in 1995, and her master’s degree in school administration in 2003.  Since graduating from the UK College of Education, she has taught in both the Fayette and Jefferson County school systems.  Sellers is now beginning her third year as principal of Goshen Elementary School in Goshen, Ky.

The UK Alumni Association Board of Directors is comprised of 110 members. Sixty-three are elected from one of eighteen (18) geographic districts. This group is responsible for setting policy of the UK Alumni Association in accordance with its Mission and Purpose. Other members represent the colleges and the UK administration. Past presidents of the UK Alumni Association also remain on the board.
