The 2007 Walk Against Child Abuse was held on Sunday, April 22 at the Johnson Center.  Students, faculty and staff from UK, as well as individuals from the community, raised more than $1,500 for the Center for Women Children and Families (CWCF).

The CWFW is a non-profit social service organization whose mission is to provide a safe, healing environment for children while offering educational and advocacy services for women and families in need.  The Center serves Fayette, Scott, Woodford, Jessamine, Bourbon and Madison counties.

The College of Education thanks each of the students who helped organize the event, in addition to Lucian Taylor, associate professor of kinesiology and health promotion, for providing music.

A special thanks also goes to Highbridge Spring Water for donating water for the Walk; in addition to Old Friends Bed and Breakfast, Cheddar’s Restaurant, Mad Mushroom Pizza, the Kentucky Theatre and Belle Vie Med Spa for donating prizes for the top fund raisers.

Contributions are still being accepted and can be brought to 133 Dickey Hall.  Checks should be made payable to the Center for Women, Children and Families.
