and Betty Blanda Professorship in Education
Established
in 2000 by George and Betty Blanda
The George
and Betty Blanda Professorship in Education is used to support
the research efforts and work of a full faculty member in the
college's department of Kinesiology and Health Promotion. The
recipient of the professorship shall be selected by a committee
appointed by the Dean of the College of Education. Professor Melody
Noland holds the professorship.
Wallace
Charles Hill Professorship in Rehabilitation Counseling
Established
in 1999 by Helen Thacker Hill
The Wallace
Charles Hill Professorship in Rehabilitation Counseling is
a fund awarded annually to provide support for the work of
a distinguished faculty member(s) in the Rehabilitation Counseling
and Special Education Department of the College of Education.
Appointment of an individual to the Wallace Charles Hill Professorship
shall be inititated by a recommendation of the Dean of the
College of Education and approved by the Chancellor and President
of the University of Kentucky and its Board of Trustees. The
appointment shall be for a period of time as determined by
the Dean of the College of Education. Professor Ralph
M. Crystal holds the professorship.
Carol
Lee Robertson Endowed Professorship in Literacy
Established
in 1999 by Carol Lee Robertson
This
professorship, the first endowed professorship at the College
of Education, shall be rewarded to a member of the College of
Education faculty or some person eleigible for appointment at
the full professor level. The recipient must be a researcher
who can apply their findings to the field of literacy and relate
well to teachers, has a proven record for obtaining grants and
contracts, and has an excellent record of teaching. The recipient(s)
of the Professorship(s) shall be selected by the Dean of the
College of Education in consultation with the faculty. Associate
Professor Janice
Almasi assumed the professorship in January 2004.
