Yes, but only Pell Grants if eligible. You will not be eligible for loans.

Yes, next year's applications are available after Jan 1

The priority deadline is February 15th for incoming Freshmen. April 1st is the deadline for returning & transfer students. You may apply after those dates; however, some types of aid may be exhausted.

The year is broken down into fall, spring and summer. If you want to apply for summer aid you must complete the procedures for the regular academic year and fill out a short summer application which is available in March.

Changes in your financial aid situation, such as the receipt of additional grants/scholarships, those must be taken into consideration and may impact your current eligibility for assistance. The latest award notice takes precedence over previous notices.

Yes. To receive aid you must maintain Reasonable Academic Progress (RAP) toward your degree. You must complete at least 67% of all hours attempted during all semesters at UK and maintain a 2.0 G.P.A. by the start of you junior year.

Your Financial Aid is credited directly to your student account. If there is a credit balance on your account (after all billed charges have been paid), Student Billings will process and mail a refund check within a few days. The University of Kentucky will begin offering direct deposit of students' excess financial aid funds or other overpayments beginning with the Fall 2007/08 Academic Year.

You will receive a Student Aid Report (SAR) from the Central Processor 4 to 5 weeks after you submit/mail your FAFSA. Review the data and make corrections if necessary. You can either mail the corrected SAR back to the processor or submit it to the Financial Aid Office for corrections. If the information is correct, retain the SAR for your records. You will receive a Financial Award Notice (FAN) listing the aid you are eligible to receive to attend UK You must check "accept" or "reject" on each item that you were offered and return it to the Financial Aid Office. If you accepted a grant, you need do nothing else. If you accepted a Direct Loan/Perkins Loan you must complete a promissory note.

If you receive a Perkins Loan, you will be required to attend a Perkins Loan meeting on campus to sign your promissory note.

If you receive a Direct Loan, you must complete an electronic promissory note on-line & attend a one time entrance counseling session. Refer, also, to information enclosed with your Financial Aid Notification for dates & times & for instructions on how to complete the Direct Loan promissory note via the Internet. Once everything is complete, including the promissory notes, your financial aid funds will be credited to your account. Any credit balance on your account will be mailed to you.

  • You have been chosen for verification, but have not completed the process.
  • You have not turned in your promissory note.
  • You have not attended a Direct Loan entrance interview/ Perkins meeting.
  • You are on Reasonable Academic Progress.
  • If you are less than full-time, your aid will not credit until the end of Add/Drop. Since the number of hours you for which you enroll determines the amount of money which you are eligible to receive for some types of aid, adjustments to your aid package maybe necessary.
