The Art History program offers a minor, B.A, and M.A. in art history.
The undergraduate courses equip students with skills in visual analysis,
art historical research, and critical thinking, and include direct experiences
with the art object. Graduates of the B.A. degree program in art history
will have acquired at least one foreign language, and will have a broad
understanding of cross-cultural relationships and the legacy of the
past. The degree provides a solid liberal arts education with a strong
emphasis on writing and problem solving, and is useful for virtually
any career path. The M.A. degree program prepares students to embark
on a professional career path or to continue graduate education on a
Ph.D. level.
