The painting subjects are depictions of objects that carry metaphorical weight such as boats, painting machines, and broken computer systems. I am interested in investigating the current human condition, the breakdown of information, miscommunication, failure, and futility. In the studio I use a combination of construction materials and traditional painting media.

Logan Grider received his BFA in painting from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and his MFA at Yale University. He has also studied at the International School of Art in Umbria and the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture in Maine. Logan’s work has been shown with Jack Tilton Gallery and Baumgartner Gallery in New York. Recent exhibitions include group shows at Hunter College and the Hudson Valley Center for Contemporary Art. In 2006 he was invited to be in the New York branch of the Artist Pension Trust. Upcoming exhibitions include a three person show at Allston Skirt Gallery in Boston.
