The undergraduate curriculum in the Department of Art consists of three programmatic areas: Art Education, Art History and Art Studio. Each area offers a Bachelor of Arts degree and the Studio program also offers a Bachelor of Fine Arts. The Department also offers two undergraduate minors in Art History and in Art Studio which are open to any University of Kentucky undergraduate in any discipline. Together, we are dedicated to the University’s mission of producing new knowledge and providing a first-class undergraduate education in visual arts practices, interpretation, and instruction.
All of our programs are governed by the rules and regulations outlined in
the University of Kentucky’s Undergraduate
Bulletin. Please read the
general information provided under each of the programmatic areas on
this website but be sure to refer to the Undergraduate Bulletin for specific
rules and programmatic requirements.
