Band Scholarships

Financial aid is available for participation in the University Bands regardless of academic major. Preference is given to music majors, however talented non-majors are also eligible for these awards. Scholarships include Grant-in-Aid, Alumni Scholarships, and the Robert C. McDowell Scholarships. Many of these awards are full tuition grants, which are renewable each year, and can be worth several thousand dollars.

Scholarship Auditions

Auditions are held in February and/or March for prospective music majors/minors and for scholarship consideration. To schedule an audition please call the UK Band Office, 859-257-2263. These auditions can also serve for acceptance into the Wildcat Marching Band.

Here are directions to the UK School of Music.

Auditions for other organizations such as Wind Ensemble, Symphony Band, Symphony Orchestra, and Jazz Ensemble(s) are normally held at the beginning of each semester.
