A few points to keep in mind when registering for the 2007 Regional Student Auditions:
- Each student’s teacher must be present for both days of the event. Any exceptions must be approved in advance by the Mid-South Regional Governor, Dr. Roma Prindle (r.prindle@morehead-st.edu, tel. 606.783.2481)
- Teachers are responsible for following the repertoire guidelines. You will find the singer categories and their respective guidelines in the Student Audition Regulations.
- You are encouraged to bring your own accompanists to the auditions, but indicate if you cannot by writing “Staff” in the accompanist section of the registration form. Mail staff accompanist fees with your registration form, along with music if it is of exceptionally difficult nature. Please let me know if the accompanist you are bringing would be able to play for additional students.
- Each student must bring three copies of the preliminary adjudication form; please make copies of the enclosed form.
- The maximum number of singers who may be accompanied by one person is eight.
- Pianists must play from lawful editions. Copies may be used for the accompanist’s convenience if the legal copy is visible on the piano. In all other cases of use of copies, permission must be cleared ahead of time with Dr. Prindle. In cases where the singer does not follow repertoire guidelines or the pianist does not play from a legal or permitted edition or copy, the student will not advance beyond the preliminary round.
Be sure and stay updated by visiting this webpage where you can download all forms and instructions for the Auditions.
