UK School of Music

Visiting Campus

Whether for auditions or just to get a feel for the place, prospective students are encouraged to visit the UK campus. To talk to someone in the School of Music while you are here, you should arrange an appointment well ahead of time directly with a faculty member in your area of interest. Our faculty are happy to meet with you, show you our facilities, arrange for you to sit in on a class, and even possibly give you a sample music lesson.

Campus Tours

The UK Visitors Center provides campus tours nearly any weekday during regular semesters. You should contact them ahead of your visit to reserve a tour time. This is the best way to get a feel for the facilities and campus life at UK. They will also be open Saturday, March 3, 2007, should you be here for auditions on that day.

Parking

Parking is always a challenge at UK. If visiting on a weekend or evening, most lots are available without restriction, but be sure to carefully read the signs at the entrace to each lot. During regular business hours, most parking is restricted. Parking regulations are strictly enforced. There is metered parking and pay parking at certain lots around campus. The closest pay lots to the Fine Arts Building are at the W.T. Young Library on Hilltop or Columbia Avenues. Your best bet during business hours is to stop at one of the UK Parking offices and buy a temporary parking pass ($2.25) that will let you park in many of the lots nearby.
