UK Old Time String Band

The UK Old Time String Band researches and performs old-time Appalachian string band Music. The group was started in 2004 by its current members:

• Nikos Pappas, prize-winning fiddler and a Ph.D. candidate in Musicology
• Kevin Kehrberg, bass player and a Ph.D. Musicology student
• Jeff Keith, guitar and a Ph.D. student in History
• Will Bacon, clawhammer banjo and a UK Alumnus.

The UK Old Time String Band, better known to the public as the Red State Ramblers, performs frequently at venues around town, at conferences, and at numerous special events. They have released a CD, which is available at any performance or via their website (not a UK site).
