Rey M. Longyear Musicology Research and Travel Fund

For the support of research expenses and professional travel by graduate students in musicology at the University of Kentucky.

This fund is designed to support the following activities:

Eligible expenses include travel and such items as duplicating of microfilms, copying or purchase of scores or documents, or purchase of research equipment. This fund will not support expenses related to research for class projects or papers.

Eligibility:

Applicants must be students in good standing in the M.A. or Ph.D. programs in musicology at the University of Kentucky.

Application:

Selection Method:

The Full Members of the faculty of the Division of Musicology shall serve as the selection committee for this fund. Criteria for make awards shall include the academic progress of the applicant, the necessity of the proposed activity to the student’s program, the quality of the application, the benefit to the Division or School of the student’s participation in the activity, and the availability of other funding. The committee shall determine, based on the availability of funds and other criteria, whether to fund a successful application in full or in part. 

Conditions:

Payments from this fund will usually be in the form of reimbursement of expenses. All regular University of Kentucky procedures for reimbursement of travel and other expenses must be followed.
