Opera in Lexington is poised on the verge of greatness, thanks to the University of Kentucky Opera Program and its Director, Dr. Everett McCorvey. The opera program at UK is one component of the overall voice program, which also includes the choral and music education programs. "The reason we have an opera program," says McCorvey, “is because we are interested in attracting the major singers in the world who want to pursue a career in opera or concert work. We feel that we have a world-class opera program here and we have always had as our goal is to be the best training program for young singers in the country. We have the facilities and the faculty to be that. We are interested in the serious student who wants to share in that goal!” Come and join us!
