The UK Department of Theatre opens its 2009-2010 Season with the award-winning contemporary play The Baltimore Waltz.  This giddy, tender, caustic comedy is based on the adventures of a brother and sister, one of whom has a fatal disease that sends the two of them spinning off to Europe to find romance and a cure.

The Baltimore Waltz was Paula Vogel's response to the 1988 death of her brother Carl, who died from complications due to AIDS before they were able to enjoy a long planned European vacation.  Vogel is a vital American Playwright whose writing awards include the Pulitzer Prize, Lortel, Drama Desk Outer Critics Circle and New York Drama Critics Award, as well as two OBIES.
