STUDY ABROAD
A Department of Theatre sponsored Education Abroad Program spends three weeks in France each summer studying theatre, art and culture in the heart of Paris.
Practicum Opportunities
Practica provide theatre students with real-world, hands-on experience in a variety of jobs on our production season. Whether you assist with marketing, scenic, light or sound design, or let your talents soar on stage, there is a faculty member with a practicum section that specifically satisfy your artistic and professional goals. The Scene Shop and Costume Studio have numerous positions for student practica each semester.
Federal Work Study (FWS)
Work study is also a great way to obtain practical knowledge within the department. The Costume and Scene Shop have positions available to students each year.
Service Learning
Several ongoing classes provide students an opportunity to bring the skills they are learning in the classroom to the community for hands-on experiential learning.

Engagement
Through touring productions, student matinees, and other community performances students learn the direct impact that theatre can have on individual lives in the Commonwealth.
Internships
The Department of Theatre encourages students to bridge the divide between academic study and the professional world by participating in an Internship Program for academic credit. Internships are crucial for networking and exposure to professional standards and ideals. Faculty can help to place students in an internship in an area of their choice.
