Humana’s Planned Acquisition of CHA
We understand UK health plan members may have questions regarding Humana's acquisition of CHA, especially regarding their coverage. Below, you will find a number of questions and answers that should address any concerns regarding this transition. 1. Will I see any differences in my UK health coverage because of this change?
No, regardless of the UK health plan you have (UK-HMO LSA, UK-HMO RSA, UK-PPO, UK-PPO High, UK-EPO, UK Healthfirst, UK Indemnity or UK Carveout) the change will have no impact on your health coverage for this plan year (July 1, 2005 – June 30, 2006).
2. Will I need to get a new ID card?
No, you may continue to use the same ID card for your medical services.
3. Will this change mean I have to pay more (or less) in premiums?
No, your monthly premium will remain the same for the duration of the plan year.
4. Will this change mean I have to pay higher copayments or coinsurance?
No, your applicable copayment and coinsurance amounts will remain the same for the duration of the plan year.
5. Who do I call for questions on my claim issues?

6. Can I continue to see the same doctors?
Yes, your physician network will not change.
7. I have the UK-HMO Lexington Service Area plan. Does this change mean that I can now see Humana network doctors?
No, you will continue using the UK HealthCare facilities and the UK HealthCare physicians.
8. I have the UK-HMO Regional Service Area plan. Does this change mean that I can now see Humana network doctors?
No, you will continue using the regional physician network, which is the CHA network.
9. I have a plan administered by Humana (UK-PPO, UK-PPO High, UK-EPO, UK Healthfirst, UK Indemnity, UK Carveout). Does this change mean that I can now see doctors in the CHA physician network?
No, you will continue using the physicians in the UK HealthCare facilities, UK HealthCare physicians, and the Humana and ChoiceCare networks.
10. I have the UK-HMO plan. I need to obtain prior authorization for dermatology, durable medical equipment, home health care, hospice services or other services. Who do I call?
Your contact information will not change. If you have UK-HMO LSA, call (859) 232-8711 or 1-800-955-9547. If you have UK-HMO RSA, call (859) 232-8679 or 1-877-855-9700.
11. I have a plan administered by Humana (UK-PPO, UK-PPO High, UK-EPO, UK Healthfirst, UK Indemnity, UK Carveout). I need prior authorization for inpatient hospital services; inpatient mental health, alcohol and/or chemical dependency services; outpatient mental health, alcohol and/or chemical dependency services; or skilled nursing services. Who do I call?
Your contact information will not change. For prior authorization, call 1-877-857-1681.
12. I have the UK-HMO plan. Do I now have a deductible?
No, your benefits for covered services at participating providers will not change. You will not have a deductible.
13. I have the UK-HMO. Do I now have coverage for out-of-network services?
This change has no effect on your current coverage. Out-of-network services are covered only in life or limb-threatening emergencies.
14. What will happen to my pharmacy coverage?
Your pharmacy coverage remains unchanged. Your pharmacy benefit manager is Express Scripts, regardless of which UK health plan you have. Express Scripts can be reached at 1-877-242-1864. UK has a direct contract with Express Scripts, which is not affected by CHA or Humana.
15. Will open enrollment dates change?
No, the dates will remain the same. You can anticipate receiving open enrollment materials in April.
16. Does this mean the UK-HMO will go away?
No, the University decides which plans are provided. The UK-HMO plan will continue to be offered.
