Holiday Resources, 2009
Holiday Message from the Work+Life Coordinator
Happy winter to all. Are you ready for the holidays? If you’ve been to any store I’m sure you are seeing the push for Christmas “deals” already, and we haven’t even gathered for Thanksgiving yet. Most folks in the United States are gearing up for two of the biggest holidays of the year, which can mean stress and overspending. In these economic times many are planning a toned-down holiday season, and some are realizing there are just not enough resources to even tone-down.
We are happy to share with you some community resources for both Thanksgiving and Christmas that can offer assistance for the holidays. If you and your family are struggling, you don’t have to do that alone. If you are experiencing stress, feeling down, or anxious please pick up the phone and ask for help. If there is a resource available we will find it for you, and if you need to talk about some issues we will listen and help you through the difficult times. The oft used phrase “remember the reason for the season” can help during stressful times this season; don’t put too much pressure on yourself for big meals or expensive gifts. Think about what is really important to you and your family, and try to focus on that.
Happy Holidays,
Ann Bassoni, WLC Coordinator
