Monthly Message from the Work-Life Director
March Greetings from the Director
Growing Work-Life
To help UK employees maximize successful integration of work + life needs, the Work Life Office staff continue to expand our information and outreach.
We welcome Ann Bassoni to our staff, who will provide confidential, individual consultations to employees who are having trouble managing their work + life (Employee Assistance Program). Ann is a licensed clinical social worker. Her prior work experience includes working as a clinician with Bluegrass IMPACT and as an on-call qualified mental health practitioner, assessing safety and suicidal ideation for individuals in hospitals, jails and police custody after hours and on weekends. She has also worked with teen moms, families, and individuals in recovery for alcohol and drug addiction. She received her Masters of Social Work at UK.
Another member of the office, Julie Geraci, has been instrumental in building our web site, pet resources, child and parent classes. Julie is a certified Middle School teacher with over 15 years of educational experience. Thanks to her efforts, UK employees now have access to excellent parenting workshops, such as “How to Talk to Your Child’s Teacher,” “Homework Help,” “No Stress Summer Study Activities” and a “Working Mothers Support Group.” She received her Masters of Education from Georgetown College.
If you don’t have time to attend the classes or live outside of the main campus area, contact us for individual consultations.
