Faculty Intentions to Leave UK
Among faculty, 62% plan to work at UK until they retire and 40% expect to work at UK for 10 or more years. However, one quarter (27%) of faculty respondents report they are engaged in an active search for a new position or have thought about it frequently and have begun to explore possibilities. This is down from 31% in 2005-06.
The primary reasons for considering to leave UK:
- Salary/wage (32%)
- Opportunities for career development (9%)
- Level of bureaucracy (8%)
- Family considerations (6%)
- Ability to balance work with my personal/family life (4%)*
*This figure was 9% in 2005-06 and is down 5 percentage points!
