2011: Formation of Committees and Development of Observations Report

In June 2011, six members of the Work-Life Advisory Council formed an ad hoc committee to develop initial observations and recommendations that emerged from the Work-Life Survey data. Each attending member of the steering committee worked on observations for a specific issue. Once the information was compiled, Kim Wilson, Associate Vice Present of Human Resources, Dan O’Hair, Dean of the College of Communications and Information Studies, and Robynn Pease, Director, Work-Life met with Office of the President Chief of Staff, Bill Swinford, to discuss the results. Mr. Swinford recommended that the Advisory Council develop key observations to share with President Capilouto. In response, members of the Work-Life Advisory Council volunteered to chair committees that looked at each of the specific issues in greater depth, recruiting members from the university at large to be part of their committees. The report below is a reflection of this process. The report includes a list of key observations, a summary of all observations and reports from each committee.
