For example, volunteering has been positively associated with improving self-esteem, reducing heart rates and blood pressure, lowering stress levels, strengthening social networks, and building support systems. The Arboretum depends on hundreds of volunteers each year. Many opportunities are available throughout the year to help the State Botanical Garden of Kentucky. University of Kentucky Health Care From flower delivery to tour guides, a wide variety of volunteer opportunities are available at the University of Kentucky Hospital. Are you interested in helping young people develop leadership, citizenship, and life skills? Becoming a 4-H volunteer will help you achieve these goals. UK Office of International Affairs Would you like to learn more about other cultures and make lasting friendships with people around the world? The University of Kentucky has approximately 1500 students from over 100 countries around the world. The International Hospitality Program sponsored by the Office of International Affairs provides opportunities to become a volunteer host for one or more international students.
