- Locating elder care resources (including out-of-state resources for long distance caregivers)
- Locating child care resources
- Strategies for managing work and personal responsibilities
- Creating flexible work schedules
- Developing alternative work arrangements
- Establishing work and life priorities
- Advising administrators, managers, and departments in the development of work-life initiatives, policies, and practices
- Identifying strategies for organizational, department, and individual effectiveness
UK Work-Life Professional Assistance may include:
- Individual Consultations:
Call our office, Monday-Friday, to set up an appointment for a one-on-one consultation either in person or over the phone. We can help you identify options and solutions to meet your needs. These consultations are kept confidential. - Seminars, Workshops, Brown-bag Presentations:
Meet us on campus or in your department for presentations on topics, such as work/life balance, pre-retirement planning, eldercare, and other subject areas of interest. - Discussion Groups:
We can help you organize a discussion group on a variety of work-life effectiveness topics (e.g., elder care, dependent care, stress management, and pre-retirement) - Management/Leadership/Administration Consultation:
We can advise departments, administrators, and managers on issues ranging from organizational effectiveness to implementation of flexible work arrangements aimed at enhancing productivity, engagement, satisfaction, and retention.
Eligibility:
- UK Work-Life professionals provide consultation and referral services to full-time and part-time faculty and staff at no charge. All communications are kept confidential.
