Work-Life

UK@Work Survey Results: Acknowledgements

Special thanks to the members of the University of Kentucky Work-Life Survey Core Group for the effort, time, dedication, and creativity they gave to this project – Roger Sugarman, Deborah Moore, Kay Hoffman, Jennifer Swanberg, Kim Wilson, Mary Ferlan, Terri Kanatzar, John Buzzard, Rebecca Scott, and Linda Seibert-Rapoport. We thank members of the Work-Life Advisory Council for providing support and championing the work-life effectiveness of employees at the University of Kentucky. We appreciate the insights and input for statistical analyses provided by Bill Raynes of the Statistics Department and Ron Langley of the University Survey Research Center. We also thank individuals representing various university constituents who reviewed an early draft of the report and gave valuable suggestions (i.e., Commission on Diversity, Commission on Women, Health and Wellness, Human Resources, Staff Senate, UK Healthcare, Women’s Forum, Work-Life Advisory Council).

This report would not have been possible without the contributions of literally thousands of staff and faculty members who took the time to complete the survey and share their thoughts and experiences. We also thank those who participated in focus groups; their input facilitated the development of the survey instrument.

We thank Connie Ray, Vice President of Institutional Research, Planning, and Effectiveness, and Kimberly Wilson, Associate Vice President for Human Resources, for their guidance and commitment to work-life effectiveness. Finally, we thank Executive Vice President Frank Butler and President Lee Todd for their leadership of work-life initiatives. We especially commend their support of this study, which was unique and significant in its attention to staff and faculty issues and concerns.
