Managing Across Generations - Presenter: Marietta Watts
Generations working together can be very difficult. Loyalty, work ethics, freedom, and rewards mean something very different to each group. Also, not understanding the perspective, work habits, and communication styles of those in another age group can cause conflict. Learning what makes each generation tick, and taking the time to consider your communication approach, will advance your relationships and help you lead your team during good times and through stressful situations. Whether your leadership responsibilities are in the form of supervisor/manager/mentor, or whether you lead from a peer perspective, this workshop will help you to:
- Identify what each generation is looking for
- Understand how the generations make decisions
- Appreciate and gain respect for what is most important to them
- Determine when and how to coach individuals based on their generational experiences
- Identify the commonalities of intergenerational teams
- October 23, 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
