UK Retiree Health Benefits Update:
What I Need to Know as a Medicare-Eligible Retiree (Age 65 or Over)

Your UK Prescription Benefit will not change. It will still be administered by Express Scripts. The increased copayment changes that were effective July 1, 2006 will continue.

Retirees SHOULD NOT enroll in Medicare Part D unless they qualify for the “Extra Help” Program through Social Security. The Extra Help program is for low income retirees and provides prescription coverage to eligible seniors for low monthly premiums and low copays. If you have been qualified through the Social Security Administration for Extra Help, please submit documentation to the UK Employee Benefits Office. In this case, you will be able to drop the UK prescription coverage and participate in the UK medical benefit only. To learn more, contact the Extra Help program at (800) 772-1213.

Your UK retiree medical benefit will change from the UK Medicare Carveout Plan to Humana’s Group Medicare Preferred Fee for Service Plan effective January 1, 2007. This plan will offer the convenience of combined Medicare and supplemental UK coverage and fixed copayments for service, including:

Primary Care          $5 per visit

Specialist                $15 per visit

Hospital Inpatient    $175 per admission

The revised UK Medicare-eligible health plan beginning in January 2007 does NOT require any deductibles. You will also be eligible for free memberships to the YMCA and other area gyms. More information will be sent to you in October 2006 along with an application for coverage.
