January 2013 Express Scripts Announcement
Express Scripts and Medco are now one company
Curascript Specialty Pharmacy is changing to ACREDO Specialty Pharmacy
University of Kentucky prescription benefits is managed by EXPRESS SCRIPTS. In the past year Express Scripts purchased Medco and now Express Scripts and Medco have come together as one company. The combined company is in the process of changing the name on all its communications to Express Scripts. Until the renaming process is complete, you'll sometimes see the Medco name in pharmacy communications and on the Web. Over the next year references to Medco will diminish as this process is completed. Please continue to refill your prescriptions as you normally would by using your current prescription drug ID card, refill order forms, our website, or the toll-free member services telephone number on your ID card.
If you use the Express Scripts website you may notice it looks different and has references to the Medco name. After Feb 1st, 2013, your physician office will be using new phone numbers and contacts to submit prescriptions to Express Scripts Mail Order Pharmacy. If you are mailing in prescriptions the address did not change. Members getting Specialty medications from Curascript may now receive these from ACREDO, the Medco Specialty pharmacy.
The new combined company will offer you additional capabilities that had not been available before. These include the ability to identify and act on savings opportunities using a tool called MyRxChoices; the ability to pay for medications over time; the ability to receive and act on safety alerts; as well as gain access to an expanded suite of mobile applications that let members order medications from a smart phone, check order status, and more.
Medco is now a part of the Express Scripts family of pharmacies
