Smoking Cessation Coverage
Effective July 1, 2007, the UK Prescription Benefit has added coverage for smoking cessation, limited to the use of varenicline (Chantix™).
Your prescription benefit for Chantix™ is limited to $500 “UK plan cost” per UK health plan member per year (this means a maximum of 8 months of prescription coverage per person per year at this time). Your coinsurance for Chantix is 40%, or about $60 per month.
The same prescription benefit exists for all UK health plan members, including UK-HMO, UK-PPO, UK-PPO High, UK-EPO, and UK Indemnity.

UK Health & Wellness Tobacco Cessation Coaching
UK Health & Wellness offers free Tobacco Cessation Coaching via a Certified Tobacco Treatment Specialist to help YOU successfully quit tobacco. Free Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) is available to eligible participants enrolled in this program. Regular employees (0.5 - 1.0 full-time equivalency) and their spouses/sponsored dependents may participate. UK retirees and their spouses/sponsored dependentsmay also participate.
