July 1, 2007 - Welcome to the University of Kentucky Employee Benefits Web site and to the 2007-08 plan year. The Employee Benefits Web site provides employees with an overview of the comprehensive benefits package offered by the University of Kentucky. These offerings are designed to meet the individual needs of employees and their families, from health, vision and dental plans to retirement plans and more. For additional information on your benefits, feel free to browse this site, which contains a great deal information on your benefit choices.
We encourage you to check out the new or expanded offerings newly available for the plan year beginning July 1, 2007. We were proud to be part of the University's work-life initiative that led to an array of new or expanded offerings, all aimed at helping our employees be more productive at work and at home. New or expanded offerings for 2007-08 include:
- The Family Education Program, which offers up to a 50% tuition discount at the University of Kentucky for employees' dependents. As one great place place to work that's deeply committed to offering a culture of learning, the University also offers a separate Employee Education Program tuition waiver benefit directly for use by UK employees.
- Expanded, University-provided life insurance coverage in an amount equal to your annual base salary.
- Reduced generic prescription coinsurance rates for UK health plan members.
- Staff Phased Retirement opportunities, which offer our employees a new way to work part-time in their current or related position as a transition to full retirement.
- Availablity of benefits coverage for sponsored dependent(s).
And keep in mind that, in addition to a core benefits package of health, dental and vision benefits, the University also offers optional life and accidental death & dismemberment insurance, as well as a retirement savings plan 403(b) with a generous 200% employer match. In addition, we are pleased to support other great benefit options, including the Employer Assisted Housing Program (also known as Live Where You Work).
