UK Ranked Among "Great Colleges to Work For"
December 17, 2008 - The University of Kentucky was recently named one of the "2008 Great Colleges to Work For" by the Chronicle of Higher Education. UK was recognized in three specific categories: retirement savings and life insurance benefit offerings, as well as tenure process clarity. For current and prospective employees alike, this recognition is just one more reminder of UK's dedication to providing great benefits, meaningful advancement opportunity and a supportive work-life culture.
2008 marked the first year of the "Great Colleges to Work For" award, which was established by the Chronicle of Higher Education to offer recognition of employer best practices among colleges and universities. The “Great Colleges” assessment included an analysis of policies and benefit offerings at each participating college or university, as well as random sample survey of staff and faculty.
Previously, UK was also recognized by AARP as a "Best Employer for Workers Over 50".
