Eligibility & Awards
Who Is Eligible?All regular full-time, part-time and temporary faculty and staff of the University are eligible to submit suggestions.
Awards
Faculty and staff whose suggestions are adopted under the rules of this program will receive cash awards ranging from $25.00 up to a maximum of $2,500. The cash awards are categorized as: Intangible and Tangible.
Intangible
Intangible awards are given to suggesters whose adopted proposals do not have a specific monetary value, such as those related to accident prevention and improved appearance.
Intangible awards range from $25.00 up to a maximum of $250.00. The size of the award depends on how widely the suggestion can be applied and other criteria.
Tangible
Tangible awards are given to suggesters whose adopted proposals result in revenue generation or in measurable savings to the University, such as savings in costs, labor and materials. A tangible award of 10% of the first year's net cost savings, up to a maximum of $2,500.00 will be paid to employees whose adopted suggestions result in tangible improvements for the University.
One-half (50%) of the estimated cash award will be paid to the suggester(s) within thirty days of the suggestion's implementation. The balance due, based on actual net savings, will be paid within sixty days upon completion of the twelve (12) months of implementation.
