Manager Self-Service (MSS) > Performance Evaluation Guide

Depending on your business roles, you may see a variety of tabs on the myUK page. This is a guide to the Manager Self-Service > Performance Evaluation section.

Part 1: Enter the MSS System

1) Log in to the myUK portal, located at myuk.uky.edu:

2) To access the "Manager Self-Service" feature, first click on the "Manager Self-Service" menu item.

3) From the dashboard screen, click on the "Performance Management" link.

Part 2: Manager Starts Performance Eval Process

4) To begin the Performance Evaluation process, the manager clicks the link beside the relevant appraisee's name.

5) In the resulting screen, the manager completes the action on this page, then selects from the two buttons, clicking "Continue" to send to the employee if ready to do so.

Part 3: Employee Enters into the Performance Evaluation Process

6) The process now passes to the employee, who clicks the link beside their name to access this step of the process.

7) In the resulting screen, the employee completes the action on this page, then selects from the two buttons, clicking "Continue" to send back to the manager if ready to do so.

Part 4: Year End Review

8) The Performance Evaluation process moves to the Year End Review, where the employee completes an optional Self-Evaluation.

9) The manager rates the employee’s Essential Functions and Job Standards to achieve an overall PE score. The PE can also be reviewed by the second level manager prior to completion. The Year End Comments tab is available for both the employee and manager to use throughout the year for documenting performance accomplishments and issues.

Part 5: Performance Evaluation Process Is Completed

10) Once each party has completed their final step, the screens for the Performance Evaluation for that employee will show Completed (as shown below), with no clickable action buttons (also shown below).
