Wildcat Wheels Bicycle Library and Repair Shop is an educational resource that provides FREE bicycle use and repair assistance to UK students, faculty and staff.
Bikes are available in a variety of sizes. All bikes are equipped with a bike lock and some have baskets. Bicycle helmets are not provided but are recommended. Bikers must follow all local, state, and national bike laws. Click here for campus rules of the road.
There is also a repair and maintenance shop run by our WCW staff and student volunteers for assistance in anything from flat tires to building bicycles.
Any questions or comments? Please e-mail Program Coordinators Drew Combs or Scott Beckmeyer at wildcatwheels@gmail.com.
Bicycle Library Checkout
All rental bikes are currently checked out. However, more bicycles will become available throughout the semester as we begin building new yellow bikes to add to our fleet. Check in occasionally during open shop hours to see if one is available. All checkouts are still first-come, first-serve and are due back at the end of the semester. Reservations are not accepted. Please bring a student/staff ID.
Departmental Blue Bike
Departmental Blue Bikes offer faculty and staff an opportunity to increase physical activity during regular working hours, reduce traffic on and around campus, and set a positive social example to students and community concerning environmental responsibility.
Thanks to a very generous donation from TIAA-Cref, we were able to dramatically expand our Blue Bike fleet in the fall of 2007, when we added 25 brand new bicycles to our fleet.
Departmental Blue Bikes are available to any UK department to use for up to one semester. Each bike is equipped with a rack, basket, and lock. Each Departmental Blue Bike will receive regular maintenance from the Wildcat Wheels Bike Library staff mechanics. To reserve a Blue Bike for your department, please e-mail wildcatwheels@gmail.com. Please bring a completed Authorization Form (PDF) when you come to pick up the bicycle.
Campus Bike Shop
The Campus Bike Shop is available FREE of charge for all UK students, faculty, and staff if they would like to find assistance with maintenance, work on personal bikes, or volunteer and work on "Yellow Bikes" for the program. We are always seeking volunteers. No experience is necessary. Come and learn how the wonderful bike works. If you're interested, please e-mail wildcatwheels@gmail.com
