SETTING PERMISSIONS IN DREAMWEAVER (not supported by all servers)

Open a site and connect to the server.

  1. Select and right-click a file on the server side

  2. Choose Set Permissions (in the middle section right after Locate in Local Site)

Clicking  on the Read All button fills in all of the checks under Read, as will clicking on each of the other “All” buttons.  As you do this you will notice numbers appearing that correspond to the CHMOD functions above.

The most common setting allows all to Read a page, only the Owner and User/Group to Write to the file and all to Execute the file.

When you've determined the permissions you want, click on OK and Dreamweaver should tell you that everything is set appropriately.

You’re done, except for finding out what Favorite Dreamweaver extensions are.
