Web Publishers Meeting
May 17, Tuesday, 2-3PM, 110 Mining & Minerals Resources Building
Although a lot of online web design tips involve e-commerce sites we can glean little nuggets from this advise that may help us design better looking sites for our client departments. There are a host of example sites and best practices out there to give you plenty of options with body and content backgrounds.
One way is to use Photoshop to create our background and menu tabs out of the same image.
TechRepublic's Ryan Boudreaux provides us the exact settings in how to create a unified website theme by fitting backgrounds, illustrations, images, graphics, and textual content together in a design.
Wallaby is the code name for an experimental Flash-to-HTML 5 converter that Adobe has just released to the development community via Adobe Labs, the site featuring Adobe's beta technology.
The release is especially significant for the Mac community because this technology would make some content previously unavailable on the iOS platform viewable on the iPad and iPhone.
Right now, Adobe is seeking comment from the Flash community on how best to deploy Wallaby -- from suggesting applications for the technology to feedback on the code and other issues.
