Q & A

I would either use some of the photos from the Biggest Loser (from the NBC web site) or use some photos off of Google for a weight loss poster. Since these pictures are on the internet, and essentially public domain, I wanted to make sure it would be okay to use them. Can you please advise me as what would be the best way to go about this?

Even though they are on the Internet, the photos are copyrighted to NBC or the company that has taken/purchased the photographs. You would need written permission from the owner of the photograph to use it for any marketing.

From Joan Shropshire and Erika Kalim in SiteLab:

If folks are managing a UK college site, they need to update their graduation information links to the url for UK Commencement 2006 at http://www.uky.edu/commencement.

Sorry we did not make this request at the meeting on Tuesday.

Notes from Campus

UK Libraries

UK Libraries went live with a new site on Dec. 19, 2005. at www.uky.edu/Libraries/. The old site will be available throughout May 6 but will not be updated. If you link to the site, please check it out. The old pages will include a link to the new site, so you can take your time updating any links. A preview of our new site is available now. See www.uky.edu/Libraries/nlws.html for information.

In particular, the Medical Center is now part of the site. Please note that the mcl url has changed to www.uky.edu/libraries/mcl. The old mcl site (www.mc.uky.edu/medlibrary) is still available until May but is not being updated. The new mcl site can be accessed via the new url or by clicking one of the two "campus libraries" buttons/links on the library system home page and selecting "medical center library" from the list of libraries. Also the Med Center AV library now has its own Web site and is accessible via the url (www.uky.edu/libraries/mcavl or via the same campus library links on the system site.

Please contact WEBADMIN@LSV.UKY.EDU if you have any questions or comments on the new site.
