CUSTOMERS INCREASINGLY INTOLERANT OF SLOW WEB SITES

While must of us don't want to purposely turn away page viewers we may unwittingly be doing so with clunky web sites.

With a polling base of around 1,500 people, a study has found that most would not tolerate slow loading pages or online transactions that took longer than normal.

The lesson for us is to constantly monitor our sites from a customer's standpoint. View your pages from home and even have relatives and friends in far away places take a look for their opinions.

USING UK LIBRARIES' PURCHASED COMMERCIAL RESOURCES & SPECIALZED CMS

Databases, E-Journals, E-Books and other electronic information resources are available to all UK-affiliates and can be included on class and other UK web pages. Librarians will provide information literacy sessions to support any class or other UK research effort (and build a specific research guide to that end.

These pages are usually created using LibGuides, a CMS designed to support the presentation of library resources via the Web LibGuides offers a FaceBook-style presentation template with a wide variety of specialized resource “boxes” for for content specialists to use in building research guides for users.
