Device Registration
All devices must be registered at http://nor.net.uky.edu before they can access the Internet through the ResNet network. Most devices, such as computers and smartphones, can be registered using the automated registration by accessing this page from the device. Devices that cannot access this page can be registered manually from your computer. Go the registration page and enter the Device Type and MAC address of the device in the appropriate fields located near the middle of the registration page.
Listed below are instructions for locating the MAC address of popular gaming consoles. These instructions are provided as a courtesy to ResNet users. ResNet does not support these devices (or any other devices that do not meet the system requirements outlined in our Support Policy). If you are unable to find the MAC address using the methods described below, you will need to contact the manufacturer of your device for assistance in obtaining this information.
Sony Playstation 3 :: Microsoft Xbox 360 :: Nintendo Wii
Sony Vita :: Nintendo 3DS

NOTE: For the best gaming experience, use an Ethernet cable with your Xbox 360 when connecting to ResNet.

- Choose either Wired or Wireless as your connection type. If you choose Wireless, select the UKYResnet Access Point that has the best signal quality.

NOTE: As the Wii only supports wireless connections out of the box, we suggest obtaining a Wii LAN adapter to have the best gaming experience. The Wii LAN adapter can be purchased wherever Wiis are sold.
- 1. If you are connecting via a wired connection, connect the Wii LAN Adapter to an available USB port on the back of the Wii.
- Turn on the Wii and select the round Wii Options button on the Wii home screen.
- Select Wii Settings from the menu.
- Scroll to the right and select Internet, then Console Settings.
- If you are using the Wii LAN Adapter, the MAC address of the Wii console is displayed on the bottom of the screen labeled Wired MAC Address. If this line is a light gray color and contains only 00's then there is a problem with your Wii LAN Adapter. Please contact Nintendo for support.  If you are connecting wirelessly, register your Wii with the Wireless MAC address.
