Notification concerning Transfer University 02/02/2012
Recently, members of the BI Team and SLCM Team have had quite a few discussions concerning the transfer university column. This field can be found on both the Detail Enrollment report, and the Students and Courses Detail report. Our consensus has been that what this field represents on the reports is not clear and the field should be removed from the reports.
The transfer university can mean either the transfer university for first time transfers or the university where the student has transferred credits over the summer. In addition, a user may want just one or all transfer universities for a student. For now, it is best for the BI Team to fulfill requests which include transfer university until we can provide a better self service option.
If you have any concerns, please let us know as soon as possible at BI-Requests@email.uky.edu. Otherwise, transfer university will be removed from the reports by February 10, 2012.

April 2010 Upgrade of SAP BW System 04/06/2010
The University is installing Enhancement Package 1 for SAP NetWeaver. This is a technical upgrade of the SAP BW system which is the Business Warehouse or reporting portion of the SAP system. The ECC 6.0 (online) and portal functions are not being upgraded at this time. April 9 at 5PM – April 26 at 7AM: QA Business Warehouse (BWQ) system will be upgraded and unavailable
April 23 at 5PM – April 26 7AM: Production Business Warehouse (BWP) system will be upgraded and unavailable
April 26 at 7AM: Upgraded BW system will be available to end users

BW Performance Index Schedule - Summer/Fall 2010 Priority Registration 03/26/2010
Due to increased activity on the system during Priority Registration, the BI Team will be running the Performance Index process chains on a reduced schedule. This means the Performance Indices (such as GPA, Attempted Credits, Earned Credits and Graded Credits) reflected in Enrollment, and Students and Courses data in BW will not be updated as often as normal, nor will the corresponding data in V_ZPRFMINDX_ATTR in BWDATA on WHPROD in Oracle.
The schedule for Performance Index (PI) updates during Summer/Fall 2010 Priority Registration (3/29/10 – 4/20/10) will be as follows:

BW Student Resident County on Reports 03/17/2010

BW Performance Index schedule during Merit Weekends 03/11/2010
Due to increased registration activity on the system during Merit Weekends, the BI Team will not be running the 2009 / 2010 Performance Index process chains the next two Saturdays (3/13 and 3/20). This means the Performance Indices (such as GPA, Attempted Credits, Earned Credits and Graded Credits) will not be updated between Friday at 7:00 AM and Tuesday at 7:00 AM.

SLCM Options, Specialties, SubSpecialties 03/10/2010
Changes have recently been made to the BW Detail Enrollment Report with fields added to the Free Characteristics option.

Users of Student Accounting Data 02/17/2010
Changes have recently been made to the data provider on which these two BW Web reports are built.
An improvement has been made in the BW FICA design which will deliver the data in a more timely manner. These reports should now be available for your use by 8:00 or 8:30 AM each morning.
The source for the FICA Documents report has been changed and you will no longer be able to access saved Z views or Y queries written against the old report. If you are unable to access any Z view or Y query please send the Technical Name of the view or query to BI-Requests@uky.edu.
The Key Date variable in the Open Item 30-60-90 query has been set to automatically bring back yesterday’s date.
This variable has been removed from the query and will no longer display on the Variables for Ad Hoc Report screen.
In addition, this report will only include Open Items. Closed Items will no longer be available through this report.

Students and Courses Issue with GPA 01/25/2010
An issue with GPA calculations on the Students and Courses report was recently identified.
The way the key figures, such as GPA – Cumulative and GPA – Overall thru Term, were being loaded and aggregated in BW was incorrect on the Students and Courses cube. This occurred when a student booked/canceled the same course n times. The system would multiply the GPA figure by the number of bookings for that term, thus inflating the GPA figures. Read more...

A flag to identify first generation students has been added
as a free characteristic on the Detail Enrollment report.
A first generation student is identified with “Y”.

SLCM Load Schedules 10/20/2009
SLCM BW report users will be glad to hear that the frequency of the data loads has been increased.

BI7 Upgrade 05/06/2009
Due to the enhanced security delivered with the BW upgrade, some modifications have been made to the Payroll Results Q queries. The attached documents detail these changes. Please review any Y queries that were modeled after these Q queries to verify they are set up according to the suggestions in the document. Saved Views are not affected.
