How can an employee have two different Personnel Numbers?

Answer

The Personnel Number (PERNR) relates to the employee's assignment. Employees who have multiple assignments will have multiple Personnel Numbers (one for each assignment). In contrast, the Person ID is the unique system-generated ID associated (one for each employee) that never changes.
