Academic units should take advantage of existing information from institutional databases to establish measurable objectives and evaluate their progress. The above data elements can also be used to develop objectives and criteria for annual assessment plans. For instance, a department could develop goals to increase overall enrollments over a period of time or award more degrees to women and minority students.
