Comparisons of benchmark institutions are used to assess UK's standing in such areas like tuition, student recruitment, faculty salaries, diversity, and employee health benefits. Analysis of benchmark institutions informs decision-making to promote program change and enhancements. Beginning in 2009-2010, the University of Kentucky started using the Top 20 Business Plan institutions as the standard comparison group for all benchmark analyses. Prior to 2009-2010, the analyses used the 19 CPE benchmark institutions. Lists of both groups of institutions are provided below.
