Created in 1993 by the merger of the College of Communications with the College of Library and Information Science, the College of Communications and Information Studies includes the Department of Communication, the School of Journalism and Telecommunications, the School of Library and Information Science, and the Graduate Program in Communication. Students learn how to create, produce and disseminate effective communication messages; how to obtain, assess and verify information; and how to make strategic use of information.
