College of Design
The University of Kentucky College of Design is composed of the School of Architecture, the School of Interior Design, and the Department of Historic Preservation. The College also operates the Center for Historic Architecture and Preservation (CHAP), a grant-funded research center engaged in preservation projects around the state. The College of Design was established to create a cohesive culture among the design disciplines on campus. Design professions continue to become increasingly integrated. Architects, interior designers and historic preservationists collaborate closely together. The College of Design strives to create an environment where design students may exchange ideas, perspectives and freely explore the inter-disciplinary connections that exist between the various practices of design.
