College of Public Health
The University of Kentucky has been offering a Master of Public Health and a Doctor of Public Health since the 2000-01 academic year. The Board of Trustees approved the establishment of the University of Kentucky College of Public Health in May 2004, and in June 2005, the new college had received full accreditation for a five-year term from the Council on Education for Public Health. Because the College is located in a state with a significant population with health problems, a major focus of the College continues to be on Kentucky’s health problems, and the major health disparities that the state experiences. The college’s emphasis is on bridging research and education to public health practice. Through education, research and service, the College of Public Health is striving to make Kentucky, the nation and the world a healthier place to live.
