Degrees Awarded by Sector and Level



  • From 1990 to 2000, the total number of degrees increased 24 percent. The Lexington Campus grew by 25 percent and the Medical Center grew by 15 percent.

  • The greatest rise in the Universty System took place at the Doctoral level at the Medical Center (132%), while the greatest decline took place at the Bachelor's level at the Medical Center (-23%).

  • On the Lexington Campus, the greatest increases took place in the Graduate School (103%), Fine Arts (64%), and Agriculture (61%), while the greatest decreases took place in Architecture (-10%) and Communications and Information Studies (-9%).
