Degrees Awarded By Gender And Degree Level
|
 The
highest percentage of degrees awarded to women has been
at the Master's level, while the lowest percentage was
conferred at the Doctoral level.
- Since
1993, the greatest relative increase of degrees awarded
to women has taken place at the Doctorate level.
- In
2002, the female students earned the highest percentages
of degrees in the Colleges of Nursing
(96%), Human
Environmental Science (91%) and Social
Work (85%), while the lowest percentage in the College
of Engineering
(17%)
- From
1992 to 2001, the relative number of degrees awarded to
women has risen the most in the Medical
Center Graduate School from 33% to 58%, Colleges of
Agriculture
from 27% to 44%, and Social
Work from 73% to 85%.
- Over
the past ten years, the relative number of degrees awarded
to women declined the most in the Colleges of Dentistry
from 44% to 29%, Fine
Arts from 63% to 54%, and Education
from 77% to 68%.
