Enrollment by College and Sex

- Ten
years ago, women accounted for half (50%) of the students
enrolled in undergraduate programs. Six in 10 students
(60%) at the master’s level were women. In 2003, the percentage
of women enrolled in baccalaureate (52%) and master’s
(61%) programs increased slightly.
- In
1994, less than half of the students enrolled in doctoral
(43%) and first-professional (39%) programs were women.
After a decade of great progress, women constituted slightly
over half of the enrollments in doctoral (51%) and first-professional
(51%) programs.
- The
greatest concentrations of women are enrolled in the Colleges
of Nursing (93%) and Social Work (87%), and the lowest
concentration is in the College of Engineering (15%).
