High School Courses - JOURNALISM

JOURNALISM A or B (1/2 unit each)

This is an elective course designed for students interested in the world of media. This fun course allows students to develop skills that are involved in newspaper, television, and media reporting. Both semesters of this course are designed with subjective and objective assignments so that students can experience journalism writing, as well as learn the terminology and technical aspects associated with the field.

11 assignments in first half and 13 assignments in second half unit.

Tuition: $70.00 per half unit.

MASS MEDIA (1/2 unit)

This course is designed to help the student understand the need for communication and how language, through various techniques of media, is used to appeal to and fulfill basic needs. Through the study of newspapers, magazines, comics, radio, television and movies the student will discover how the media influences their decisions and opinions.
